The palatial houses in Chettinad are called as “Machu veedu”  (multi storied house) and

the area which is in height in Thanjavur Road in Pudukkottai town is called as

“Machu Vadi” (the habitat  in height).

The Machu picchu of Peru,  which means  “the habitat in height”, was formed by the

Mayan culture.

Indian history mentioned about the Mayan constructions through out our country.

The word “machu” which is used in Peru culture and in our South Indian

day to day  life is telling the truth that through out the world the civilizations

at various places were interlinked.
